The De Rosa Corum - Unforgettable Steel Ride
Once you ride a steel bike made by someone who really knows how to do it, you will never forget the experience, and will likely never want to ride any other frame material. The De Rosa Corum with its expert TIG welded tubes will give you a race ready performance with a ride quality that will also be perfect for your multiday endurance events.
As with all De Rosa bikes, the Corum has been designed to balance a comfortable ride with stable handling and quick acceleration. You want to be able to feel its snappy reaction when you jump out of the saddle, but it needs to be comfortable for long hours on the bike. That is exactly what the Corum can offer. Using the highest quality steel and master TIG welding, the Corum frame offers the beautiful resiliency that we love in steel frames with a durability and responsiveness that everyone demands in a proper racing bike.
The use of TIG welding in particular is important because it gives the welder greater control over the process enabling super strong, high quality welds. Just one look at the smooth, impressive welding at the bottom bracket junction will give you all sorts of confidence to put the hammer down when you want to jump away from your competitors. Meanwhile, all purists and home mechanics will be pleased with the 70mm threaded bottom bracket for ease of maintenance and the wide variety of cranks that can be fitted.
Sharp handling will be helped by the geometry working together with the stiff carbon fork. You will be able to take twisty descents at a high speed and with confidence. What’s nice about the Corum, if you are comparing it to the Agé, is that it has that little extra bit of modern capabilities with the internal cable routing and the potential to fit either mechanical or electronic groupsets on it. That just goes toward that perfect mix of the modern and the classic. It’s like driving a Mercedes Pagode with an AMG V8 engine in it.
Extensive Size Range and Custom Geometry of the De Rosa Corum
It comes in an astounding 15 sizes starting at 44cm in 1cm increments up to 62cm. And you will have the option to order it with completely customized geometry. So there’s almost no way you won’t be able to find the perfect fit for your frame. If you had a steel bike circa 1987 and loved the way it rode but would like to make use of modern components and gearing, then a De Rosa Corum will help you have the best of both worlds.
